I. The Scriptures

The Bible was written by men divinely inspired by God and is God's revelation of himself to mankind. All scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals who God is, what he requires of mankind and how he came to rescue us when we rebelled against him.

II. God

There is only one true and living God. God is triune, three unique personalities in one. In the Bible, we see God reveal himself as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. They are totally equal in eternal nature and value and work in complete and total unity. God is infinite, eternal and perfect. He is without beginning or end. He created the world and sustains it. Without him, nothing that exists would be. He does not need humanity, but has chosen to love them based on his infinite goodness and mercy.

God the Father rules over the universe with complete power, knowledge and presence. He is the heavenly father to all who believe in the Son by faith.

Jesus is God the Son. The eternal son of God the Father, Jesus took on human form and was born of the virgin Mary. Jesus lived a perfect life, fulfilling the law of God, and he died a sacrificial death to pay the penalty for the sins of the world, so that all who believe in him by faith would be saved.

The Holy Spirit is the third member of the trinity. The Holy Spirit empowers the followers of Jesus to accomplish the purposes of God as established by the life and teaching of Jesus.

III. Mankind

Man was created by God to bring glory to God, however mankind attempted to rebel against God and the resulting fallout of those actions plunged the world into chaos. Death, sickness and despair exist because man attempted to live without God. God had every right to destroy mankind, but instead chose to take on the form of a man and die to pay the penalty for the rebellion mankind had waged against himself.

IV. Salvation

God has always granted mercy to those that believed by faith. Salvation is not produced by good works or deeds, but rather is by the conscious choice to trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Salvation is available to all that would by faith believe in Jesus Christ.

V. Heaven and Hell

There is a literal place where God dwells called heaven in scripture. Only those who have believed by faith in Jesus Christ can come into the glorious presence of God. Those that willingly choose to deny Jesus will be separated from him forever in a place of torment that the Bible refers to as the lake of fire. God desires for all to be saved, and offers salvation to all who would believe by faith in Jesus Christ.

VI. The Church

The universal church is made up of all believers across all cultures and times that have put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. The local church is a group of people that have united over their shared faith in Jesus Christ. The local church exists to make students of Jesus Christ and to equip those students to make new students. 

VII. Baptism and Communion

Baptism is a public confession that a person has become a student of Jesus. It is an outward symbolic reflection of the transformation and cleansing that has resulted because of their belief in Jesus Christ. It is not necessary for salvation, but is an act of obedience after salvation.

Communion, or the Lord's Supper is a symbolic celebration of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Before Jesus was crucified he instructed his followers to carry on this tradition to remember the life, death and resurrection of our Lord. There is nothing mystical about the custom, nor does it absolve sins. It is merely a symbolic reminder of the ultimate sacrifice that God paid for us on the cross.

VIII. The Kingdom

The kingdom of God is in the hearts, minds and souls of men, women, boys and girls. The church's responsibility is to expand the kingdom of God by introducing people to the life-changing power of the gospel: the story and the person of Jesus Christ. The kingdom demands that we set right injustice and suffering like our King Jesus would.

IX. Last Things

Jesus Christ will return to the world and bring the rebel planet Earth back under his dominion. His church will be with him forever. Jesus will make all things new, and rule in a universe without evil or death.
